Bugs Go Away is our Citronella scented candle. It's a scent derived from the drying of a grassy plant called cymbopogon nardus. It's a natural product as opposed to a chemical repellant used in bug spray. It is used to repel insects such as flies, mosquitoes and ticks without killing them. The scent of citronella in tealight or votive candles when heated releases odors into the air to disguise the human scent as host to the insects! Perfect for homes, front porches, patios and backyards. This scent was inspired by my sister Alma Alvarez who had mentioned it to me in a barbeque one day and suggested I should start making citronella candles because it helps repel bugs and mosquitoes. Care Instructions
1. Trim The Wick: Before lighting, always trim the wick 1/4 of an inch using scissors or a wick trimmer for a cleaner burn and increased candle lifespan.
2. Let It Burn: Allow the wax to melt fully to the edges of the jar. This is important especially in the first burn. This prevents tunneling.
3. Practice Safety: Do not leave a candle unattended nor burn for more than 4 hours at a time.
4. Never Burn A Candle When 1/4 Inch Of Wax Remains: Lighting a candle without enough wax can overheat the jar.
5. You Can Reuse It: Once the candle is finished, clean out the jar. Our candle tins can be used as a planter, a pencil holder or anyhting else you would like to use it for.
